Walden Surfboards & Heather Ross partner

Walden Surfboards is excited to introduce the launch of our Artist Series Limited Edition surfboards, our first collection is by Santa Cruz native Heather Ross. Heather Ross is an author and artist. Her illustrations appear on textiles, paper goods, on the pages of her book, Weekend Sewing, and on her blog, Weekend by Heather Ross. Heather's work draws upon both her own childhood, which she describes as "rural and unsupervised," and her career in fashion and textile design to bring her readers a collection of projects, recipes, resources, artwork, and essays meant to inspire and empower young women (the first generation of American women, as Ross points out, for whom home ec was not a requirement) to live creatively.

Heather is originally from Santa Cruz, although she now calls NYC home she is stoked to be working with Walden Surfboards and coming back to her surfing roots.

Heather has designed three boards for us as well as the special Walden Wahine turtle logo that will be on on of her surfboards. Heather Ross's designs will be available in 7'0, 8'0 & 9'0. We will debut all of her designs on our new website coming in March! For more information contact us at info@waldensurfboards.com

Patty Anderson Jewelry at Walden Surfboards

We love everything having to do with the sea and we found the perfect accessories for all seaside loving wahine's Patty Anderson Jewelry, belts and accessories. We especially love her sand dollar belt buckles on her fabulous leather belts and her sterling silver starfish on hand dyed silk ribbons.

Patty Anderson Jewelry, Inc. was founded in 2000. Patty acquired her love of jewelry and jewelry crafting from her grandmother, a jewelry and silversmith artist. As a little girl Patty loved to stand by as her grandmother tumbled gems, melted silver, and created her treasures. Using the tools and building on the techniques learned from her grandmother, Patty began experimenting with many different new materials and her own style emerged.

What started as a hobby, combining silver beads, pearls, and semi-precious gemstones to create one-of-a-kind pieces for family and friends, became a successful creative venture that drew interest from Bloomingdales. Demand increased and a business evolved. Following a successful eight year period of nationwide distribution in Bloomingdales, Patty Anderson Jewelry can now be found in upscale boutiques around the United States and Bahamas.

Working with sterling silver, 14k gold, semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls and natural elements, Patty handcrafts all pieces of her jewelry. She creates pieces that can be worn daily or for special occasions.

Living in Florida, she finds inspiration all around her. You will often find Patty, her husband, three children, and two golden retrievers on the beach where inspiration is abundant. The ever changing palette of sea and sky, the textures in nature and the vivid surroundings trigger her natural creativity for jewelry and accessories.

Patty's designs are available at the Walden Surfboards surf shop at 853 E. Front st. in Ventura and will debut on our new website coming in March!
